About us
Gay Bible Christians is an ongoing preaching, study, support, and resource publishing
ministry of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and
Transgender Bible-believing Christians. Our
ministry work is in strengthening and exhorting Lesbian,
Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender
Christians (including ourselves!) in ever-greater
love, faith, repentance, and service to our Awesome
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We do
service works of evangelism and healing ministry, as
well, as we move among and minister to non-Christian
Queer and straight people. We ask for your prayers,
that the Lord will always guide and teach us, and
that we will always hear and answer His call!
This site receives many thousands of hits each
month, and we invite you to use this site to
increase visibility and linking to your own site.
We welcome your links and anything else you feel
called to add, including notices for new members to
your church, fellowship, group, or site. We ask only
that your submissions be for or about Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual, or Transgender Bible-based Christians.
We reserve the right to not post or publish
inappropriate listings or materials.
The Gay Bible Christians website had its start in
several on- and off-line Queer Christian ministries,
and was begun as a means of putting together a
comprehensive help, study, and reference site
specifically for Queer Bible-based Christians.
Many of us have been hurt and misunderstood in
conservative churches, and we may have been taught
to believe that God condemns us as LGBT people –
even though the Scriptures, as God gave them to us,
prove He does not! Many of us have also tried to
find our place in liberal churches, only to feel
empty and ill at ease without the proper importance
and honor given to the Word and the Cross. The
emphasis you will find on this website, however, is
true, biblically based Christian teaching and
encouragement that calls on us all to:

Place our faith in Jesus Christ as our
only salvation (John 14:6; Romans 10:9-13),
-
Study, understand, and apply the Scriptures
as God gave them to us in their original
languages and contexts (2 Timothy 3:16-17;
Ephesians 6:17),
-
Heal the spiritual damage and incorrect
teachings we and others like us have suffered
from those who abuse the Scriptures to
erroneously “prove” God condemns Queer (and
other) people (Matthew 7:15-23; Titus 1:9-10; 1
Timothy 1:9-10), and
-
Grow in the Fruit of the Spirit – love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self control – as
we grow in love and service to the Lord, and to
our fellow Christian and non-Christian human
beings (Galatians 5:22-23).
Finally, though there are a variety of belief
differences among Charismatic, Evangelical,
Fundamentalist, Holiness, and Pentecostal Bible-based Christians
(e.g., regarding how the Spirit works and manifests
in our time),
we – purposed for the “spirit of unity” within
the Body of Christ (Romans 15:5-7) – lovingly
respect and value the sincere diversity of thought
and biblical understanding among us as Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual, & Transgender Bible-based Christians.
While we individually may hold fast to additional
doctrine, collectively we refuse disunity for the
purposes of this website.
Therefore, this website assumes and holds to the
following basic fundamentals of the faith:

The divine inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible
-
The deity of Jesus Christ
-
The virgin birth of Jesus Christ
-
The substitutionary, atoning work of Jesus Christ on the Cross
-
The physical, bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, and His
personal bodily return to the earth in a future
time.
About the coordinating minister:
Currently, the coordinating minister for the Gay
Bible Christians website is Jen Lynne.
Raised in a fundamentalist, holiness church, as a
young Butch Lesbian she struggled for many painful
years while separated from the Lord, having been
(wrongly) convinced by her previous religious
training that God rejected her, both for her sexual
as well as her gender orientation. After many wrong
turns and missteps, including a period of trying
(unsuccessfully) to reject who she was, God opened
her heart to His real love for her, and then
returned her to the Bible. She soon began studying the
Scripture as GOD gave it to us - and not as human
beings have reinterpreted it in various
translations. It was in studying the original
languages and contexts of the Bible that she finally
came to truly understand that God does not reject Lesbians, Gay men,
Bisexuals, or Transgender people, but loves and calls to us just as He
does all people who look to Jesus as their
salvation.
Jen was originally ordained by and served in
leadership and teaching positions within a Pentecostal
denomination, but she withdrew from it when continuing to serve
there would have compromised the work God had called her to do:
love and serve all Queer people, regardless of
denomination and current understanding of the Gospel.
Prompted by the Lord to remain in and speak His
truth while remaining unfettered by denominational
politics, she has been active the last several years
as a non-denominational minister in Charismatic,
Evangelical, Pentecostal, and non-denominational
Bible-centered Queer groups and churches. Within the
Five-Fold ministry she is a pastor and
prophet, and Paul and John the Baptist are her
favorite Bible-teachers.
Pastor Jen's
calling is in Bible-based spiritual healing &
reconciliation ministry with and to the Queer and
straight community.
