Things to think about

Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.
(Philippians 2:1-2)

More about this web site:Ministry team work

Note that GayBibleChristians.org is slowing moving everything on this website over to a new blog site: http://nojunkjustjesus.blogspot.com/  Sign up there at "No Junk - Just Jesus" to get all our new stuff (and old, as we move it), as well as prayer requests, news, and more!

Gay Bible Christians began in 2003 as a healing, prayer, evangelizing, prophecy, and resource publishing ministry for Gay Bible-believing Christians.

Led by the Holy Spirit, we've grown a lot since then – both individually, and together. And this ministry continues today as a loosely organized online fellowship of Gay Bible-believing believers who pray, encourage, counsel, strengthen, teach, prophesy, and love each other and those who visit this site, whoever they might be (and fully half of our visitors each month are straight people looking to understand if their Gay loved ones can be saved).

We are from all over the world, and we come from a wide variety of backgrounds, including (but not only) Charismatic, Evangelical, Holiness, Pentecostal, non-denominational, and even anti-denominational -- but we find commonality in our common experiences:

  • We've often been (and continue to be) hurt and misunderstood in conservative churches, web sites, and forums, and we may have been previously taught to believe that God condemns us as Queer people – even though the Scriptures, as God gave them to us, prove He does not!

  • But we've also failed to find our place in liberal churches, web sites, and forums (including nearly all of those which are Gay!), feeling empty and ill at ease in them without the proper importance and honor given to the real Word and to the Cross.

We offer this as a "safe place", then, for all those who want to learn more about being Gay, the Bible, and about being a Gay Bible-believing Christian, and who feel led by the Holy Spirit to help others do the same.

There is no official "membership" for GayBibleChristians.org -- on purpose! You don't "belong" to anyone here -- you belong to Jesus Christ! So we recognize only the Body of Christ – expressed in its global and local sense as the Bible describes it in the languages and contexts that God wrote it in, and not as it's been twisted into any " denominations", "churches", "associations", etc. If you are Gay or a straight person supportive of Gay people, believe in the Bible (or think you might want to), and love only Jesus (or think you might want to), then we consider you one of us in this work!

So, there are no places to "sign up" to use or participate in this site. We hope you will participate as you feel led by the Holy Spirit – praying, for example, for the requests we get (join the newsletter list to get the prayer list each month), reading or listening as one part of your study, and taking the truth of the real Jesus Christ to those who need to hear more about Him: Gay people who have been turned away from Him, and those who've turned them away by claiming to love Him but keeping the devil in their hearts.

About Jen:

Hello everyone!

Traditionally, this is the part of the web site where I'm supposed to (and used to) give you all the reasons you should recognize me as a teaching or other authority you should listen to. When I was a legally ordained minister I was told by many that I "had" to write such things to "reassure" people that I was the "real deal" and someone who should be listened to and even "obeyed" (I was told the same things about using titles like "reverend" and "pastor" and dressing in certain ways and so on).

But really - this web site is not about me.

It's not about getting you to realize how "clever" or "smart" I am.

It's not about growing numbers of subscribers or visitors so I can make all or part of my living off you (financially or emotionally).

It's not about proving why you should submit to me or join my local church or anything else on this planet.

Instead, it's all about Jesus. And truly, if John the Baptist wasn't fit even to remove Jesus' sandals, I'm not fit enough to even think about Jesus' sandals.

In fact, I'm just Jen -- a fellow human being [Matthew 23:8-10], lovingly created by God to be a butch lesbian as a testimony to His love, power, and will to do as He pleases [1 Corinthians 1:25-29].

So, here's what I will share, just so you know where I'm coming from:

I was raised in a fundamentalist church, and I left that as a young person, convinced that I was condemned and unloved by God. I then wandered in exile for many years, still longing for God even when I didn't realize it. I remained separated from God while I explored a lot of different ways of being in this world, and in my unending desperation to fill the big, empty, God-shaped hole in my chest, I tried everything -- both very-right and very-left wing politics, for example, and all sorts of eastern and western religions (including atheism).

And, quite painfully, none of any of that ultimately worked.

But then one day I sat down, one-on-one before the Lord for the first time in about 20 years, and cried and asked Him, "Why do You still call me, when You don't want me??" And He answered me:

"It was never Me that didn't want you."

And that was the beginning.

The beginning of a still years-long learning process through which the Holy Spirit -- when I would let Him -- began to teach me the difference between what God says -- and what human beings only say He says. The difference between what God wants us to understand -- and what other human beings want us to believe.

It was also the beginning of my full embrace of His Scripture -- the Bible -- as GOD gave it to us in the original languages and contexts He put it in. Surrendering to God -- instead of to other sinful human beings who stood between me and God -- was what finally freed and saved me.

And that's why this site is only about Jesus -- and not about me.

Because I can't save you - your pastor can't save you - your denomination can't save you. No other human being can -- no matter what their ordination, or apparent spiritual gifting, or education, and so on. And the degree to which you understand and accept that is the degree to which you are on God's Team, and not Pastor Look-At-Me's team. It's the degree to which you truly glorify God, and not The Association of Really Righteous Human Beings. It's the degree to which you finally begin to know the peace of Christ, and not the here-and-gone or faked peace of the devil's world.

Myself, I continue to learn, even today. I pray always that the Holy Spirit will never stop teaching me more about the real Jesus and His plan for the world -- and for me.

And when the Spirit leads, I continue to share what the Lord puts in my heart to share on this web site, and I pray that it blesses you or someone you know and brings even more glory and praise to God!

Even more, I pray that you will take whatever you find of value on this web site and make it a part of your life and the lives of those around you. Be the hands and heart of Jesus to yourself and to all those around you who need to see who He really is -- and not just be stuck thinking He's no better than those who most loudly (and falsely) claim to represent and guard Him.

If I can help you in any way – to chat, to locate resources, or for anything else – please feel free to contact me through this web site.

In His love,

Jen
